FOUND: BRIE LARSON’S 2015 PLAYLIST (IT’S A KEEPER!)
We’re not embarrassed to say that sometimes, we spend my weekends nerding out on a cool famous girl type when we really should be doing something more productive. like laundry. Arg, whatever.
After doing a deep dive into actor Brie Larson’s Instagram feed (yeah, we nerded out on her big time), in which we found cool body positive messaging, awesome celebrity candids and the star modeling for her friend’s smart knitwear line, (seriously, we just could not. stop. scrolling), we found this gem–a page from her trusty journal, in which she documents her essential playlist of 2015.

Even better, the playlist holds up a couple of years later. I’ve taken the liberty of assembling her playlist here so we can all #TBT to 2015, compliments of one of the coolest girls in the game:
The girl’s got musical chops. In recent Instgram post, Brie shared that she used to DJ to keep the lights on, saying, “I used to DJ. It was the ‘real’ job that floated me while I auditioned for the movies I never got. Even during the filming of Short Term 12 I spun records at magazine parties and hotel bars on weekends because I couldn’t survive off of SAG minimum.”
She continues, “I loved rare foreign covers of Beatles songs, Ye-Ye girls, and soul. Drunk dudes would request trap and I’d tell them ‘Sorry I only play vinyl.’ I was hustling, but I got people dancing and hung with my other DJ friends. I’m grateful for where I am now, but want to give a toast to the life I lived before. To all the dreamers with day jobs, I see you, don’t give up. There is beauty in your journey.”
We respect her hustle and her party style. Because who wouldn’t take musical cues from a girl who gets down like this?
