CARIBBEAN QUEEN

Maybe it’s that summer is coming to a close, or that Amber Heard is all over the media and looking perfectly bronzed and beautiful for her latest press tour, but we’re feeling the look of her character Chenault in The Rum Diary (2011) in a major way right now. Set in 1950s Puerto Rico, Heard’s character carries a perfect tan, tailored, 50s clothes and classic beauty looks (chignons and red lipstick) throughout the film.

Her look is clean, simple and timeless. And despite the tropical locale, never dips into island kitsch. Cop it for yourself with some of these Chenault-inspired picks:

Nars Body Glow gives head-to-toe sunkissed skin with a light coconut fragrance.

ModCloth Shoreline Soiree Dress in Stripes has got that ’50s fit-and-flare feel (say that three times fast) that calls to mind both Chenault and the ladies of Magic City.

Juicy Couture Skinny Padlock Hinge Bangle echoes the simple classic jewelry worn in the film (and Cartier’s famous love bracelet).

Dr. Scholls Women’s Band Sandal is dressy without looking out of place at the shore.

MAC’s RiRi Woo gives a Chenault worthy red pout, compliments of fellow Caribbean queen Rhianna.

Amy and Brian’s Coconut Juice kicks down island flavor without the booze.
